There are no e-mail notifications, even when an e-mail address is entered into the Cc field of a ticket.

The default trac.ini has smtp_enabled = false. Even when enabled it appears that normally only the updater of a ticket gets an e-mail notification. I've now enabled SMTP in this project's trac.ini and changed so that owner and reporter also get notified of ticket changes. I've also corrected the from and reply-to settings from trac@localhost to forge@…. This update to this ticket should result in three messages to me, as reporter, as updater, and as owner. We shall see.

Yep, that works. I got only one message. But the ticket only knew my login name, trac must have looked up my e-mail address in the project user settings, which is good. Andy Vick thinks e-mail notifications may be a bad thing, so this will probably be a per-project configuration to be done in trac.ini.
